Hannah
1 Samuel 1-2
Hannah is one of the wives of Elkanah and the mother of the prophet Samuel. Initially unable to have children, she prayed fervently to God at the Tabernacle in Shiloh and vowed that if she received a son, she would dedicate him to God's service for life. God answered her prayers and she gave birth to Samuel, whom she later entrusted to the priest Eli at Shiloh, fulfilling her vow. Hannah was eventually blessed with three more sons and two daughters.
